I want to say a huge thanks to the cool guide for this server. I got the server working well I think. But am a bit lost as how to get the client to connect. Can someone please guide me in the right direction?

Let it download and install but do not patch it or open the launcher after it's done installing! It'll patch past what PWD can handle.
Next, download PWD (Perfect World Downgrade) here: PWI Downgrade Files
Now, once it's downloaded, extract it, then run pwd-export.bat. Leave it to run, until the command prompt tells you otherwise.
Once PWD has downloaded everything it needs, a new folder will have appeared called pwd. Open this and inside you'll find a file called INSTALL_PATCH.BAT. Run this, it'll give you on-screen instructions.
PWD will now downgrade your PWI client to the Chinese 1.3.6 v101 client, which is compatible with the server files we have. (This WILL remove genies and disable creating the Tideborn race. There is nothing we can do to change that. However, if using the Rising Tide downgrade, the Rising Tide map area and the Palace of Nirvana will stay intact.)
Next, upload the contents of - SERVER - to \PWServer\gamed\config\ on your Perfect World server.
Now you need to navigate to your serverlist.txt file in the client. For example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\userdata\server\serverlist.txt. Open this in notepad.
Now clear it's contents and write the following:
ServerName <tab> 29000:YourServerIP <tab> 1
Substitute ServerName and YourServerIP with the correct details, and <tab> with the tab button (doesn't show on the forums).
If you run into any issues, please PM me and I'll try and help you sort them out.Quote:
Download sPATCH
Extract it's contents. Copy/Move: patcher.exe, patcher.ini, version.sw, \tools\, \skin\ to your element folder.
Now on your patch server, create a new folder and call it patch. Then inside that, make a file called versions.sw.
Back to your client, open patcher.ini in notepad.
After patch_server= put your patcher server IP/URL.
Now to stop getting errors, you're going to make an empty patch. Make a folder on your computer called ec_patch. Don't put anything inside this. Now drag this folder onto patcher.exe which you put in your element folder. This'll make a .xup file called ec_patch_0-0.xup. Rename it to ec_patch_0-1.xup and upload to your patch folder.
Now open versions.sw which is on your patch server. Put the following: 1=ec_patch_0-1.xup.
Open version.sw in your client and make sure it says 0.
Now, providing all has gone well, open patcher.exe. The update button should be blue, click it and it'll patch to version 1 which you just uploaded. Click play, the game will launch and you should be able to connect to your server and play!

Try using pwAdmin, which comes pre-installed with this server distribution. If this gives you errors as well, you haven't installed the PW server correctly, or are using the wrong Linux Distro. (Personally, I prefer Ubuntu.) Follow ronny's guide down to the letter, and it should have worked first time.Quote:

There's a sticky on a plugin for Firefox that allows you to search Ragezone via the topright drop down search menu. If you don't use Firefox, just type in Google "http://forum.ragezone.com/f452" (minus the speech marks) then your search words. That does a better search sometimes, and doesn't omit 2/3 letter word searches.
