I been sniffing around with official LC USA client, and needless to say there isn't a whole lot of packets being sent to server (3 packets gets you ingame). Making a emu for this game would be easy and quick. Idk why you guys bother with these old files.

I am currently working on my own game project so I don't have the time to begin an emulator project, however if people undertake an emulator project I will put in some time coding some areas.
Ive noticed 2 new PServers for LC have risen as well Elite and 777, how is the files available for them? I'd like to know where they're getting them so I could open a server and play around with custom shit.
They are being sold here and there among server owners. There's a guy here on RageZone that sells them too. But I would wait until they leek. These E2 files have some security holes that I know 99% of server owners cannot patch (gold hacking, item dupe) since assembly on Linux is much different then Windows. I wouldn't be surprised if the original hole in which they was hacked from gamigo still exists.
The "dupe" bug is fixed on the official servers and on 777.
It will be fixed on EG-EP2 this week. EliteLC is still vulnerable together with all the 2005 servers.
But the people that know how to exploit that bug inc me can be count on 1 hand.
Its always fun to make a emulator for EP2, and even more easy since the packet encryption can be disabled.
Just sadly i failed to understand how to sniff the packages after they are decrpyted. I just don't have enough knowledge with Olly to do that.
Thats actually the one and only reason why i was working on a emulator for the 2005 files. I got a reply like "that is not for beginners" but basicly that would be the only thing i would need olly for, to get the packages. Analyzing them is more my thing ;)

The 50221 feels like a better match because it does not have a bug with the merchant thing.
Sadly that client has way lower limits, and also does not support magic attack skills on NPC's. The following info is missing in the mobAll.lod and all the mobX.lod files
The 17173 client does support glow effects on upgraded itemsCode:skill1_id - Int16 skill1_lvl - Byte skill2_id - Int16 skill2_lvl - Byte attack_type - Byte fire_delay_count - Byte fire_delay0 - Float fire_delay1 - Float fire_delay2 - Float fire_delay3 - Float fire_effect0 - Byte[] fire_effect1 - Byte[] fire_effect2 - Byte[] fire_object - Byte[] fire_speed - Byte[]
But the server does not support them.
Also the server has Rogue half prepared and 17173 can also display rogue with armor and skills if necessary. but the 50221 not.

I think there must be a version between 50221 and 17173 that should work perfectly.
