Update:
By entering the first dungeon in town, you get stuck, cause your char get misplaced above the dungeon map.
It might be a waste of time to adapt the chinese client from aqualung's post.
So let's continue searching for a propper client.

Are you trying a straight copy/paste job of the entire contents of the string file? Or are you picking and choosing? I think if you kept the default language file there, and just pasted in specific areas with the American translation, it will probably not have that error in it.

The best way to check if these are pre-eva files is to get yourself a blue 5bs evasion set and go into lust trum and see if the bats hit u 100% miss just use /hpmp 1 1 to set your hp and mp to 1%, u should be alive after 30 minutes still
