And files are as stable as you are doing it right. 4 years of vSRO 188 and 193 development, and I mean it by development. Changing map structures, adding UI functions, offset ASM related stuff, adding content, etc.
For my taste: vSRO 188 > vSRO 193 > any other pSRO, even cSRO-R!
188 has it's weird moments... added some necessary items to the item mall, which people were able to buy and use as usual, but the price wasn't showing properly, just a fat single figure "0 Silk", as it's price. After 2 years made another vSRO 188 setup, custom and very slightly edited server, guess what? Same item, same shop strings, same crap overall: The item mall price will show up as intended, in this case, 100 Silk.
It is really up to you. But I prefer 188 the most over each other version, due to its flexible assembly, not bugged like hell, client is 99,9% matching with the server structure and framework, if you are using my files (hell, people don't even notice, which files, procedures, tables are unnecessary, or not even knowing that any mastery level up beyond lv 120 will result always in zero skillpoints cost).
