Sorry, guess I didn't read the question carefully.

So, I allways copy & paste the whole table to notepad and search for an ID.
If it can be found i can't use it, if it can't, I'm allowed. Statiic's table ended with the 86442 -> the 86443 was set, too but somewhere in the middle of the table. The next usable ID was the 86444. That one was free.

Same princip for the index.

From SQL main menu choose Tools >> Options and go to Designers and remove check from "Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation as shown here:

Then go to table Refpackageitem table Right click and choose Design

Then Right click on ID and choose "set primary key"

Then scroll down at column properties you will find "Identity specification" property >> choose "is identity" and choose "yes" as you can see here

This will make ID auto number and SQL will generate a unique number each time you try to add a new items to the table.

Do the same to table Refscrapofpackageitem but don't set primary key >> just make [INDEX] column identity to YES

now to add new item leave ID empty (NULL) and SQL will generate a new number (unique number) and this for [INDEX] at refscraofpackageitem too >> then copy this numbers to your media text files.
