Anybody know of another editor that works or a work around? I got this pk editor from the link revoland providd but it only able to import files from surface of media, and launcher. If i import other files such as refscrapofitems, refpackofitem, etc... My client crashes.
thats 99.999% not a pk2 editor problem. Rather a problem of brain.exe being incompatible with life.
When u import the other files, u have to specify a destination as aswell. Thats why you only import the shit to the "surface" of the media.
for example if u wanna change characterdataxxx.txt you put it into \server_dep\silkroad\textdata\
do it manually as well... result are still the same. You're able to open the silkroad.exe and click start, but nothing happen after that...

Look, you said that everything from YOUR damn pk2 editor goes into the "surface" of the pk2 file. If u client is not starting, thats a different thing... Well i cant help u if u cant even say what ur real problem is + give detail.

I did not say it import to my surface. I said anything on media.pk2 surface that is imported is okay (works fine), but anything beyond that if I imported such as I cannot import the file itemshopgoods, packageitems, scrapofitems, etc... If I do, my client does not start. You'll see the logo for 3second then nothing happen; it just exit out...Originally Posted by Royalblade

i have a problem when i edit my files and import it in my media nothing is happend idk why ...... when i want to sure if it import i extract it again and see my changes put i don,t see change why ???? sorry for my english plz help fast
when you import and nothing happens: it means you have not done something correct like one of these:
-You have not edit server side
-You imported to the wrong location
-Missing data
I got mine fixed; not because something is wrong with my pc or the editor. It just user error.
