Hello there.
So it was a whilde ago i worked on a silkroad online server but then my friends keep telling me to start back a server as i had befor.

But befor i do all that i have some questions i hope someone might know.
As i tryed a silkroad server to see if i still had the spark for the game its 50/50 i like it.
But what i need to know is this, so here we go.

1. On the server i checked i saw they had Silk Scrolls , That you could sell / activate and so on.
Can i find this here ? i been looking but nothing yet.

2. SQL server 2016 is working with the V1.188 server files ?

3. weapon / set changed, As i love 10dg weps i wonder if theres any program or if its in the database so i can change the item level + stats on 10dg to make like Egy weapons. or if its better to use a model switch if that makes everything alot easier ?

And last question 4. When adding effects to avatars there was a program i needed. could someone help me with the name for this. It was to decrypt the document and then encrypt it again.

If theres something i forgot that might be a good thing to think about when returning to coding feel free to inform me =) i havent coded on 3 years so i might be a bit rusty and outdated so to speak ^^

1. Silk scrolls are done by modifying the "_AddLogItem" procedure for when a certain item has been used an executing the Silk adding stored procedure, Many releases have been done like this so just do a quick google search

2. Not 100% sure about this one, worth a try tho right? :)

3. For this one theres many ways about it, you could duplicate all the 10D items and make 11D versions of them, or could simpily just make model change scrolls that will change 11D gear/weapons to 10D models, this however also requires you to make duplicates of 10D as well. Just again make a quick google search on model switchers for silkroad online

4. Not sure if theres a program for modifying the effects, but you can manually do this easily without the need for a program, quite a few tutorials or even servers you could look at their textdata files and get an idea or information on how it's done. Unless your talking about the EFP editor where you can change the effect looks for skills etc

hello. thank you for the answers. i will check up the 2016 SQL and see how it works. I heard they removed some things that 2005 and 2008 uses but not inside the 2016 but i guess some reading on that should make it all clearer
I tryed the 2005 as i know that work 100% with V1.188 files but for some reason i got that no access to change Sa account so i will check that up to.

Now i know little more to look and do so thats great =) hope the people that requested me to start back a server will enjoy this new things.

I got one final question, when i had a server befor i only used 1 gameserver as i only had 110 cap and around 700 players and all run on so smooth. Is it more recomended to use 2 gameservers now or as long as you stick to 11dg 110 cap 1 gameserver works just fine no matter the player count you have ? As i will do alot of rechange add modify i want to be prepared if needed with the gameserver so i dont get a later on issue with that part.
