Since when has it been unacceptable to post SS of your work/development progress on ragezone? I'm fairly sure we can go into ANY section and find show off threads that are accepted but people here are mad because we're showing off?

Guess these guys are just trolling also by posting SS of their works
Or is it that if it makes people jealous it's trolling? Still these topics above may fit that
Personally, I don't mind if people want to show off what they have acomplished. It's nice to see people having some pride in their hard work. Showing off hardware though, has absolutely nothing to do with getting the server files fixed and working, so I don't see the point in some of the other bragging posts by other posters. I just believe that a completely separate thread should exist for that kind of stuff.
It doesn't belong with the development/release/tutorial sections and is just causing unnecessary clutter. Just my thoughts on the topic.

I didn't post this in any of those sections I posted in the base section where show off topics belong imo.
There are also multiple topics about hardware and MANY people posting what they have hardware wise all over this section... I feel like posting a new topic asking what everyone is running is more fair then posting things like(cant remember exact topic or amounts but) the one reply where a guy listed like 4 of his dedis and their ram was like 12 12 24 24 or something...
I just feel like people are reacting with so much hostility because they hate that we have things they don't... being far ahead of most people doesn't mean you automatically can't talk about what you have(3.x and a fuckton of hardware to use)
We also plan to contribute to the section, we may even one day release the hotfixes(after we check them and such first ofc) for the released files that fix a few (game breaking)exploits. On top of that I will give pointers and advice in the section(though at times I admittedly come off as harsh with my replies they are always valid)

Fair enough, and point taken.
Good luck with getting your server up. Hope it works out and hope to see it soon.

Too much freaking drama...
Anyways it's like max 3 teams working on Allods, TD Team (3.0 files), Just Ods ( old server files) and maybe Papka (not sure which files he has) as I see his server and website are down...
So not really a race, as many are unfortunately more interested in other games :(
I do hope that someone could post 3.0 files at least the item xdb's for Dead ity raid instance from 3.0 patch so that players can at least know which bosses drop which loot.
if you really played allods online (from the very beginning), you would know that new versions of this game are much worse than the old. it is expressed in the crappy game mechanics, lameness of classes and terrible dependence on shop. with each new patch this game accepted more and more ugly forms. if you think that new versions it is better old, you very strongly are mistaken, only the graphics became better...

Thats the jist I got from reading allods forums. After the CBT was finished (I believe that the public set is the CBT files right?) I guess there was a ton of drama surrounding the game. Another company took it over and turned it into pay2win/cash cow. I'm not sure about game changes between then and now tho, I don't know much about the game..
@the qq'n over screenshots.
I have no problem with screen shots at all - what I do have a problem with is that it wasn't mentioned that these files are not publicly available. I don't like wasting my time (as with most everyone else here) and I would've appreciated (and been more receptive) to the thread had you said clearly that these are files different from the public ones. I don't like turning my wheels looking into something you've displayed as a teaser just to find out that your files are nothing like the ones the majority of us are learning/using.
Showing off is ok - bragging without providing details (so that nobody wastes time trying to figure out how you did something with files that are much older then yours) is pretty gay.
Anyhow, good luck.
The point is - these threads with screen shots serve a purpose and are clearly documented as to why they are there. All you did was brag it up about recent files you clearly know haven't been released.
Had you said something to that effect in your original post (IE, these screenshots are taken from our files which are private 3.0 files, etc) it would've gone smoother. You imply that there's nothing special about your files/client compared to the general public. This is misdirecting and confuses people.
Screenshots with technical info or a purpose? +1
Screenshots of bragging with no info or purpose? -1.
This is just my opinion. Don't take it personally.
