How to get started

Hello everyone, I am from Tantra Private Server dev and decided to stop pursuing that game since it has no available source AND players are becoming very few.

I have browsed this forum for 2 days now looking for working files and etc, my friends suggested I should start with episode 7 so thats what I looked for first.

All links are dead (cant blame them, most shares from ep 7 is from 2014)

Also Visual Studio 2017 doesnt seem to work with ANY of ran source, may I know what version you guys are using?

Can you also suggest or share some episode 7 files?

For source, it is still up I think. Just browse through the forum. EP7 v1 is your way to go.

For compiling your own, we use VS2003. You can also find a thread regarding compilation of Ran Online here on the forum.

One of my friends told me , study the ran source code, master it , after that recode it to the latest vs 2012 - 2019.
He say need to re write all the code, but it work, just need time

For me, I didn't suggest to upgrade the source to the latest version of Visual studio, since may ran online player still using a windows 7, though the vc++ redis are added in the client, they are still encountered an unexpected error while playing, this was based on my experience.
