[QUESTION]Windows 2003 SP1 to SP2

I'm using windows 2003 Server with SP1, I would like to upgrade it to SP2, my concern are, is there a dramatically change in terms of performance compared to SP1? (those who tried this already).

Is it safe to use SP2 if we have installed our ranserver from SP1, I mean will there be no (will occur) problem at all?

hmm. . .can't answer you well technically. . because i've never tried WINDOWS Server 2003. . but i know that different packages of windows like that SP1 compare to SP2 is the security hole and bugs update. . or any *.dll, *.ocx file update. . . just like us if we see bugs in our server we update right? so i think it might work. . and i hope you get my point^_^

Your IP is Dynamic now or Static? You upgrade and made all the changes like ODBC ? and cfg editing?

well i have static ip. i use wpe pro to connect my client without hamachi.

No, im not using any program or any configurations with my connection. I have 5 usable IP's and im Static.

Windows Server 2003 SP2 works fine with WPE. Been using it for sometime.

yah i already tried it but when i set up sql server 2005 on it,

i didn't success i dont know why.

Thats weird. Im using SQL 2005 too in my Windows Server 2003.

Check some old files > Program Files > Microsoft SQL Server > mssql > Data maybe they are still there.

you have statis IP? i think you can run your server without using WPE pro
& hamachi directly to your IP.

Yes true, i guess WPE Pro is just for Dynamic IP's.

Oh you mean your SQL Client is the problem.

So you tried it on SP1 this time? and you got that problem? Well i really dont know about SP1 buddy because i never tried using it. Try Sp2.

nope, i did not try any windows server 2003 with sp1 or sp2.

instead i already tried windows server 2003 STANDARD edition.

so, i need your recommendation of what i am going to use.

Well at my end, the time that I'm having this hard time to install MSSQL on windows 2003 server it is because I'm not using SP1 yet, after it is updated problem solved :)
