Im trepidatious of the 145 anyway...i hear that the older classes have been given mediocre skill upgrades, whereas the new classes have been made even more powerful...this statement should be viewed as more of a question though as i dont play official..but to read anyones opinion on this would be great.
In this case, is newer better?
I dont know if i would even want to run pure 145 if this is true.
145 content would be nice like any fashions and mounts

Personally, my view on it is, go all the way or go home. Otherwise we're gonna end up with another 1.2.6/1.3.6 scenario where we have separate server and client sides because the server is actually 1.4.4 and the client is actually 1.4.5 etc...Quote:

they called "balance" when descent came out, coz all class can get new OP skills, armors and weapons.
weapon stats and skins are totaly crap, however everybody knows the original ch devs are gays. pink, purple, yellow hellokitty and fluffy unicorns till tideborn patch...
I think they've [the company] at least made an attempt to 'fix' what is 'broken'. The main things that come to mind are "you cannot please everybody" because, well, that's just the truth! Also, that you cannot always get things right on the first try, but this to me is finally an indicator that they realize their game is WAY out of balance. To expect them to 'fix' it all in one patch would be unrealistic! So, would I say things are 'perfect', no. Would I say 'balance has been restored', not necessarily. So maybe it will take them a few more 'expansions', with a few more tweaks to all the existing skills, with the addition of even more skills in the future. Modifications to gears, armors, weaps, etc... Who knows, but at least it does illustrate good faith from the company / developers, at least to me. Maybe some day the game will be pretty fairly balanced. Personally I do think that will mean, further changes to all existing skills (if not the addition of even more)... APS receiving a further 'nerf'!Spoiler:
Before I make my closing, I have to FIRST OFF say and reiterate that 1.3.6 IS THE BEST version of this game, EVER! In the end, I would have to say 'keeping up with the newest' would be well worth it, because anything they've made any form of 'progress' on is worth having over their older mistakes ! :wink:

I firmly believe the "no crap custom content" is their excuse for not knowing HOW to add anything customised.
As for Descent skills, some of them are pretty nice (I play an Archer so I'm loving the fact I can get stealth soon) but also some of them are pretty dependant on your build (yeah Metal Mage Cleric skills are REALLY useful on a char I use for full support!) so :/ meh it's an attempt by PWI to balance them so you have to admit it's a step forwards since they never admitted that there was imbalance in PvP or PvE before now.
They switched their development team sometime around version 1.3.6
Almost none of the original development team is still around and working on PW anymore. There were some threads about it on wanmei forums and how the new "expansion craze" is a complete mess...
However Morai is pretty awesome. And earthguard aren't all that bad, its just tideborn that suck.
