So I have decided that I am gonna join a close knit group of friends, a private group of old post pacific developers from back in the lineage 2 days, and develop private sorce. I will check forums every once in a while but I am not asking for assistance here :) this place has become an you be an expert or get lost place. I will look into some more into jsp / sql / xml integration and I will do everyone a favor as my last gift to RZ and release a working pwAdmin here soon. other than that this place is useless and I seem to be helping more than I thought. To all my friends here (yall already know who you are) yall will be missed.

I don't blame you. Ragezone is stuck in time in this endless loop. Never moving forward. Its the same thing over and over. I wanted to this section grow into kind of a modding community where people make amazing things with the files but I guess this isn't that sort of place. Its the sort of place where most people only look out for themselves. I would better off finding a nice single player (or multiplayer coop) game and joining a modding community for that instead of an mmo. Or better yet getting involved in a 3D forum instead.

Anyway goodbye and good luck. You are one of the few people who have come here that has actually put effort into doing something with these files and I respect you for that. Maybe one day when I'm a famous 3D artist our paths might cross again. :)

I learned 99% of my shit through trial and error just because the forum is not fitting your every needs of questions does not make it a bad place, these days groups are the best choice I been with one for a long time now so good luck with that...

I never said this was a bad place, personally, there are a bunch of people here i respect, you, psy, 343, rbb, michael, and a few more. Relax bash I love RZ, its just not the place it used to be like it was back in 2004, fewer questions, more experience, and we all helped each other. That's not the case anymore so its time for me to join my friends from post pacific who will help and I will still help them. we will figure stuff out together, just not through RZ. They all know who they are and everyone i respect or am friends with here, feel free to contact me if you do need help. A group of people is better than a single mind being told to "get better at it". The reason multiple programmers exists in game design? Because there is too much work and everyone specializes in a specific field sometimes 2 but no one is a know it all. Bash my friend, you are a great guy, I will always have respect for you. Just, you know, don't assume I am calling RZ a bad place when I'm not. If you needed help, I would gladly help you too, but I am sticking to a small group of people from here that I will help and help get things right, and that is about it. If any of you that I have mentioned or those of you who already know who you are need me, my YIM and skype will be posted on my profile. Other than that, its back to PPC i go (post pacific private source)


Also its not like I am getting retail files handed to me with minimal work, on a silver platter. Instead I am working with some of the shittiest files I have seen in private dev server history and making them as "complete" as possible be recoding things, adding missing features, etc. I have done a damn good job for these files being "non official". :D anyways, ty you everyone.


Oh and one more thing, when have i never not done most of the work myself before asking just to solve it myself. If you guys want to be closed source why would I stay where ppl are getting their work handed to them on a silver platter? Thats like saying "I'm better than you because I have got a connection in PWI".

Best of luck dude, im personally working solo and on the forum front have began setting up a new development forum.

I think the issues most face here (or perhaps just myself), is the influx of lazy developers who are handed everything whilst veteran developers work hard to create solutions which are then spoon feed to the masses who use them without credit for monetary gain.

I personally am always on-board to offer advice or information as PW is a great learning platform and with a point in the right direction devs can learn alot.
I believe that the newer generation of pw developers should remember that when i started back in early 2009, there were no real tools as such, so alot of work was pretty much trial and error and hex editing etc.

Ragezone day by day has become a "lazy" zone. They leaked files and people came to grab it, just like the old days. But one important thing that, in the past, they got the files, developed it, learnt it. In contrary, people nowadays after grabbing the files, they DO NOT DO ANYTHING to develop, but instead, spamming this forum with the same questions from time to time. Thus, nothing will be be learnt on their own. Moreover, as I noticed, out of developers (real ones), nobody come here to develop but leeching, trolling. That's it, the old developers will leave soon and the rest would contribute nothing. This is the fact we must accept :).
I ,as a inexperienced little person in this forum, would gladly show my respect to a certain group of people. About the rest? Yup, I don't give a s***.
However, seeing you leave is some kind of a pity. Wish you best luck on anything you are doing and will do, sxymxd84.
