I have a question about dead servers.

I was wondering if you could turn dead servers into your own servers; for example I was a member of Apocalyps PW a very extreme server with only like 10 players. After a while the admin decided to close down Apocalyps PW but said that he would return one day, so I kept the files.
It has been a long time and he still hasn't returned so I wondered if somehow I could connect it to unbunto to make it my own server. I wondered if that is possible so I come to you. Is it possible? Do I just need to change the ip addresses?

It is possible to copy the game, but for getting player datas, you must ask to the owner.
And if you can, why dont you try to create better game server?

Because they had legit Devs who actually created their own mobs and rides it looked awesome.

If you have the server files you can but not the client files you won't be able too.

Well you could even without the server files because you could redo the npcgen files yourself if you can remember where everything was but the question is why resurrect a dead server.

Because that server was the best server I have ever seen. It was over powered to the maximum! Before the server shut down the GM let us have GM gear and leveled us to 5000, it was awesome. Can't upload screenshots :(

If the server owner/devs were smart, even with making own npcgen it doesn't work. The is no way to be sure that any data in the client is correct, especially mob data, quests data, aipolicy. Any of these can be different to the client and it will still work, as long as the server has proper data.
