aaand..ive tried that one with this setup and authd was failing to connect...for me anyway.
Also there is a difference in file sizes..mine is smaller and was not suffering the authd failure which is why i posted the one i have and not that one.
But thank you in anycase, i guess if people want to they will try them both and come to their own conclusions.

Im hesitant to upload Russian files as this is an English forum..however when i have everything configured ile upload my client and these server files with path fixes and maps etc.
Or..you can find the "patch" links out there or you can try integrating Souris files for yourself.

To my question though.
Got the server running ..so it seems...and pwAdmin running ok..some tweaking needed.
Downloaded a few patches/files for client/server and tried them out.
My problem is that when i try to log in the client continuously states "incorrect password or username"
I even made up a simple account real quick using "tester" for username and password but the client still refuses entry to the server.
I will add here i looked in phpmyadmin and the accounts i had made did exist.
I didnt see the UID in forbid table either.
So i know on an earlier test server i didnt have this problem..but it wasnt set up this way either, it was running under a lamp stack with no admin, i did log in with no problems.
Now im having this problem.
At a guess it could be pwAdmin?
Or perhaps a corruption occuring?
Maybe the log-in information password is encrypting wrongly?
I need a push in the right direction.
I really am out of ideas, i feel so close to getting this running..but so far.
Please any ideas would help as im out of fresh ones.

Even ubuntu 10.04 (more stable) its just that i had issues so i moved to 11.04.
I like the feature of being able to switch between gui and tty1 with ctrl-alt-f1 etc.
Also i use my serv for other things...:blushing: yes im a gui addict. :laugh:

still got same issue, "username and password incorrect" when trying to login, i used ubuntu 11.04 and follow every detail your guide, dont know what wrong, and the world map can startup :*:

Did you use the server side and client side patch files with the posted elementclient.exe as well? (a few posts up)
Ive had this problem when i deviate away from these patched files...also are you sure your server has started correctly (terminal tells)
Sounds like a daemon may not be starting if map cant start?
If server starts with no errors then its probably mismatched data files.

2 night dont get sleep, still same issue, username and password incorrect, i am using your server files, vmware ubuntu 11.04....
