New to Ragezone

Hiya! I'm new to Ragezone and I was wondering if someone could help me.

I want to find a working 1.4.4+ release that hopefully has Tideborns and Earthguards and works well. I'm also kinda new to this stuff in the sense that I've installed some servers before but not as many as others may have to understand what they're doing. I've tried looking at some of the tutorials here but there are always some parts that I get errors at while i'm installing. I've tried 343's complete PW Package, but I always get errors at some parts. I'm not quite sure what to do. Could someone help?

Well, near Installation Tutorial - YouTube (6:57) I can't access those commands even as root. Using mount /dev/cdrom /cdrom doesn't work for me. I don't know if it's a vital part to the process.

Maybe you didn't put the .iso file into your cdrom. The iso is a cd image, that contains the server file.

Alternatively, you can extract the content of the iso file, and upload via ssh with a ssh client.

However, since you are still working on 1.3.6 file, I recommend you ask this question in the 1.3.6 section instead.

I was working on trying the 1.3.6, but I have wanted to try a 1.4.4. I see too many releases and tutorials and I wanted some opinions on which is good and so on. (✿◠‿◠)

If by "good" you mean easy to setup, then I would recommend you get 1.3.6 to work first. The package by 343 is probably the most easy to follow. You will have a hard time setting up 1.4.4 if you can't get that package to work at the very least.

Though I never tried the package personally. But again, 343's is probably the most complete initial build on here.
