A nudge in the right direction.

Ok so I am currently uploading my client its taking a while due to my slowish connection but once its done I will be releasing my tutorial on gshop editing and how to setup the patcher as well as a pack for website integration I think that pretty much covers for anybody how to get everything your average user wants when they start this.

Now as for me, I like to think though I bang my head against it a lot before I learn it. I have the aptitude to learn this stuff. I was wondering if someone with more experience could mentor me or point me in the direction of the next thing I should learn to become better at this. Of course the fruits of my learning will be given back to the site in the form of guides and tutorials and such. One of the things I would like to learn is how to make a full installer like 343 does the guy is amazing. I already have a decent working knowledge of php, web design and linux server management.

Though I would love to become even better with php. One of the ideas I had was attempting to build an interface to replace the patcher. Something that allows users to structure their update files like they would be in the client then upload a rawr or zip to a file sharing site or their own server. Were upon the updater would check for a predefined variable say the original file being named zip01 while the updated file is zip 02 then download the new file and extract it over the old ones.
