I use 2 x Opteron 220, each of them is a dual core running at 2.4 GHz. So basically 4 cores spread over two logical CPUs. PW runs like a charm on that. 8 GB will be too little though. In general, Ram > CPU. I have 16 GB ram on my test server and I can load complete maps - but not much air then. I'd suggest 24+ GB ram.
