    Can Map server (GS) be fragmented in two PC's? for same server

    Can Map server (GS) be fragmented in two PC's? like open half maps in one PC and other Half in another,

    I have even upgraded my dedicated to 16 cores processor and still cant open all maps version 1.4.7 in a single PC, it consumes 92% processor and lags like hell when players start to login,

    is my version glitched, or something?

    Re: Can Map server (GS) be fragmented in two PC's? for same server

    @fgru

    32 GB Ram, 1 GB Up/Down network HD 128 GB SSD (Using V-Box) I've tested providing up to 30 GB ram and 1~16 processor cores, (Also verified on Linux if it recognizes all processor cores)

    Systems tested: Ubuntu 12.4 and Ubuntu 10.4 (Got better performance on 10.4)

    I can turn on all 50 PW Map's with 21 GB ram, i checked the processor specs and he shouldn't have any problem managing that ram per sec

    Iv'e been running a few tests,

    Results: Linux running on (Duo Core) with my actual system files (1.4.7) consume 1.9 GB + 3% processor,

    2) Running with (Octa Core) consume the same 3% and 1.9 GB ram

    3) Got a (CLEAN) version of 1.4.7 gamed folder, and data, and tested it instead of less usage, it consumed: 15% Processor and 2.4 GB RAM with (Only World Map) On Ubuntu 10.4

    4) With all 50 maps ON, (Clean gamed version) 97% processor consume, (Weird part: On clean one even after (KILL the processes) and turn all maps and server off, it does still consume 95% of the processor)

    5) With my usual version, all maps (ON) it consumes 92% of the processor, and when players start to login, it goes to 97% the more players go in, Ping start to increase, 170 to 280, 300,500,2k

    But, you can chat walk switch weapons with no lag at all, and with network test with 70 players online, its not consuming even 2% of our band, Then when i Turn Maps, off Ping goes green again,

    My server is Low rate, close to the original, and there for we need all maps working, we got a Second dedicated server even better then the last one, and now we'r testing on both, and no matter how many cores, we provide Linux.

    If we provide (two) it will run and consume the same processor as 8 or 16 cores (just start faster)

    our player base is increasing every day and they r complaining about LAG =/ and i don't know anymore what to do i've tried everything in my range with 1.4.5 version i was able to turn all maps on and never had any processor LAG or such thing

    is this GS or gamed folder the problem? =/ can anyone provide me a clean or working version that does not got a Processor Dark Hole that i can test? thanks in advance

    I only come here to ask for help after search and spend days trying everything possible i cold try to fix the issue =/

    Re: Can Map server (GS) be fragmented in two PC's? for same server

    is this related to those (Glink server 1,Glink server 2,Glink server 3,Glink server 4?

    [GLinkServer1]
    type = tcp
    port = 29000
    address = xx.xx.xx.xxx
    so_sndbuf = 12288
    so_rcvbuf = 12288
    ibuffermax = 16384
    obuffermax = 65536
    tcp_nodelay = 0
    listen_backlog = 10
    accumulate = 131072
    max_users = 3000
    halflogin_users = 6000
    sender_interval = 200000
    accumu_packets = 32768
    mtrace = /tmp/m_trace.link
    compress = 0
    close_discard = 1
    urgency_support = 1
    version=10406

    can someone explain how is the setup to run GS in more then one Linux? thanks in Advance

    (Problem Solved)~___________________From all releases in the forum. you must use this one:

    http://forum.ragezone.com/f751/cpack...-6-v80-978611/

    With this one, its consuming the right amount of Ram, and Processor, with 52 Map's online, its consuming only 45% of my processor, using only (4) Cores all others gamed folder releases, consume 90% of both processors i v tested

    (Intel Xenon and AMD Opterom) no matter how many cores you provide it, dunno for sure what cause it but it runs smooth as ever now

    iam running 1.5.0 with 48GB Ram, 2x xeon Quadcore, 2TB SAS, 65 maps open (original + costum), 1gbps Local IIX Connection, 10mbps IX International Connection.
    only use average 25% CPU processing, and still free15GB memory, run with smoth without problem, and i still can create email server + mysql server + httpd server + DNS server + on 1 single server with pw server.
    and no glitched.

    i think that problem was from your Server Configuration / PW Server Configuration.

    BTW try to avoid using VBOX / VMWare / other Virtualization use Standalone Server will be more better performance.
    and for UBUNTU OS, make sure you use Minimal Installation without GUI, because installing GUI on server, can reduce server performance.

    if you wanna make multiple server, no need to use Virtualization or buy new server, just create PW Server Configuration, and add virtual network + forwarding packet data. and you cann use it on 1 single server.

    Agreed and disagreed
    Performance might be a bit less due to having a host machine
    but Hyper-V and VMWare (agreed on VBox, just trow that out of the window ASAP) are made for this sort of stuff, having a virtualization server has its ups. full server migrations without the need of re-installing. backup a full .vhd, .vhdx (or whatever VMWare uses), make snapshots to rollback to if you make a test server, etc etc. Enterprise Virtualization software like VMWare or Hyper-V Server are excellent for doing this. it saves so much time compared to having to install new machines all the time.

    to OP: yes, the server was designed that way, mainly for load balancing.
    just keep in mind that you will also have to update 2 servers instead of 1 when you update your game.

    Of course they can, if you really wanted to you could have one machine PER service/daemon and one per map. If you really wanted to that is...
