Creating 1.4.6 server

Hello everyone, im new here and i want to ask you guys few questions. Its my first time that i want to create perfect world server. Something that i want is 1.4.6 version with 1.5+ quests, fashion, mounts ... Im junior programer but never tryed to make something like this, so if you guys can introduce me with some links, where should i start, what things to use ...

Which version of ubuntu should i use for 1.4.6 ?

there are so much links of 1.4.6,you can download iso file that they have made well.

I can use the latest version of Ubuntu server iso files, and it DOES work, but you need to work with the OS itself to find the correct packages. Ubuntu has itself a good online listing of its packages
