if i change the gshop data files do i need to change element or is it posible the gshops will worl as long as client and server have the exact same info

When changing the gshop.data files, you will also need to create the gshop.sev files and make certain that everything has the same timestamps. Then you will duplicate the files on your server and in the client. (Otherwise you'll get an incorrect version error.)
elements.data is not linked to gshop.data in that you will need to make any changes to it.

ok did that but know when i load up i get a black screen and no loading pic

Are you loading it in full-screen mode? If so try Windowed. I've had that happen a couple of times, and then it went away. Not sure what the cause is. (A few times, I've just had to let it sit for 5 minutes or so and the login screen finally appeared.) Whatever the cause is, after loading it in windowed mode, and then switching to full-screen, the issue mysteriously went away.

Once I had that happen and it was just an incompatibility with a video driver version from Nvidia and rolling back to a previous version resolved it. (That was shortly after the Decent version.) For whatever reason, with that driver version it simply would not load in full-screen mode and would only load windowed. (But I could later switch to full-screen, just not have full-screen at start-up.)

Those are what I've experienced with that error anyway. Not a real solution, but a few options that may help.
