Knowledge about Pw Dev

Hello devs, I'm starting on Pw Dev, but I want to make something different, I want to learn how to make a PW Editor. One made by myself, without any un-used feature. So what kind of knowledge I need to have? I mean, about programming language or reverse engineering skills. Thanks in advance, any help will be apreciated.:

Perl is used server-side, in the source code.

maybe rpcgen need to use perl,can i ask something questions about server? i read the source about glink,and i find only one thread deal with socket,can it hold lots of user login?ex, millions of users, i know that source about glink is easy,most work of glink is delivering message, but i am confused.
