Players starting at level 0

Hi guys.. Im using v69 on a dedicated server.. and I was sleeping yesterday when the world server got down and the gamedbd got erased.. I don't know if that was a hacker.. but if that was a hacker, he would probably delete everything and screw up the server..

So, I tried to move the yesterdays gamedbd backup to my server, but when I start it, it says:

err: gdeliveryd cannot connect to gameDB.

I could solve it by using fix.sh, though every player was deleted..and thats not what I want.
Can someone tell me what could've happened or is that a way to solve it ?

I think that what happened was that I changed the starter races wrongly.. and until now I haven't restarted the GameDBD.. the problem is in one of the files.

The players are desperated to play and donate.. and I don't want to wipe the server :(

Now every single PLAYER is starting at level 0. I already used releases from forum.. new gamedbd, nem uniquenamed.. and still level 0.

So I recall there being at least two different complaints of people creating characters only to find out they're level 0 and they cannot log in. For the longest time I could not replicate this error, but somehow I managed to (inadvertently) run across this problem today. So, I took all my 'live' files off my test/build server VM and ran a WinMERGE against the original install files. The only ONE that was not identical was clsconfig.

So, if you ever have this problem you need to restore the clsconfig binary in /PWServer/gamedbd

As far as a 'corrupted' DB, sorry, I do not know if/how to fix those...

Just hopefully (for your sake and your players sake) you have a fairly recent backup!
