Does anyone know exactly how to change an instance requirement? For example GV requires 6 ppl to enter, I want to change it to 2. Any help? I looked in tasks but, couldnt find what values or even if its in task that we change this mechanic.

Sadly I am not near my "dev pc" atm, but I can assure you it IS in tasks.data... use pwdatabase to look up all related quests from the NPC to get in and maybe you'll find it
sTASKedit can do it. Make sure you build the latest version. It is there :)
Would you be referring to the team members section? as in adding min - max level and setting max # value to 2?

Edit* Tested but when i exported the tasks file to 1.4.4 and uploaded to server and client, i started getting version low errors? I have the latest versions of tasks edit that much im pretty sure of. and I know how to fix any version low according to gshops thats not the prob. But why with the tasks file? OR.... do i have to update timestamps in gshop when saving a new tasks?

Do both tasks.data (server and client) have the same time-stamp? I'm not totally sure if mis-matching time-stamps on tasks will cause that too, but I would guess you changed tasks and not gshop that it could be. Hex edit the client and server tasks and make sure their time-stamps match?
I will give that a try, its just odd. This i could expect from gshops but now tasks? just gets weirder and weirder. Ill post findings in a moment.
k, yea I'm not all too familiar with 144 because I <3 136
gave it a try but no success. Doesnt seem the timestamps make a difference in this matter. Wondering what else is causing tasks to do this. GS service starts, problem just lies with client. I even tried updating the gshops and transfer all 3 together. No success. hmmm. This one seems like a bit of a toughie. And to think all im doing is changing # of players required to enter an instance. QQ
every " .data " need same timestamp ... except gshop all " .data " the same version for client and server ... if " client ... low ... " check winscp for timestamp option or similar program ...
Yup, Im using filezilla, and the preserve timestamp option has always been checked, Nothing has changed there. So if a .data needs the same time stamp as the gshops, can you give me a little detail as how to do so? because i tried editing the first 5 hex to match the gshop and it took the gs offline? I may have changed the wrong thing tho, any help you can give me fgru would be appreciated :)

I even tried updating the timestamp to what it was before being edited and still I get the same problem. This is starting to become frustrating the timestamps match but still the error persists like wth lol
So apparently, my server is very different from most. I had to actually UPDATE this retarded timestamp to read something new, than copy it back to server and now its letting me in no problem. I wonder why my server is requiring me to update timestamps rather keep em the same. o.O

It's only software, technically it can be made to do whatever you want it to do ...
So its going back and forth, either gs offline or version low, this is with editing all timestamps to match, no luck at all, is getting to be very frustrating.

tasks.data uses a version number, not timestamp. If i remember right, either the client or server has the tasks version hard coded and ignores that part of the file. Maybe you exported tasks.data to the wrong version?
Well im using the v580 and have attempted several times to do this. My client is v606 so in theory the file should still work.
Also just tested the orignal tasks, edited and added only the party members to quest and sure enough the map server starts and crashes. Im about to give up, for now, and try to learn again later.

What i found out is that you cannot "add" a party members section to anything, instead you sift thru and edit whats already there. My only problem now is to find out why nirvana crashes when setting to 1 member min 6 member max.
*edit nvm i guess thats normal for nirvana to stay closed until entered (for some strange reason) but I am still having the problem when multiple things are edited ( such as editing the number of required players reduced to 1-6 giving me a version low when saved. So what I will do is post the edited tasks.data so that way anyone can look at it and see if they spot whats wrong with it. ( much appreciated to whoever looks at it )

I know there are TONS of differences between 136 and 144, at the same time there are many similarities too! So I figured you may want to read this over to see if it you're missing something in the 'dev sec' that could be causing your issues

I would think most likely it's something in your 'dev sec' causing you problems since you're trying to change team member requirements and you mentioned nothing of changing anything in the 'dev sec'. The importance of the 'dev sec' was re-iterated to me in THIS THREAD

343 I wanna thank you like a Billion times over. The Dev sec for the pt requirments (which is basic hex) was the answer to all my problems and was quite over looked. (tbh I didnt know that field was related to the party requirements but i do now) so thank you and +rep (when i get more)
As for the nirvana thing not opening, i learned its called server wise blasphemy, still trying to figure out what a26b palace of nirvana is for as that was the map i was talking about stopping itself when i start it.
ou a26b huh? that's a map from my 136 release
Though for PW v144 it would be useless since a26b is Nirvana (It's part of a completely custom 'set up' from my 136 release; I did it that way so that I could keep ORG 136 a26 HoB, yet add a 'custom' nirvana to 136 since Nerdvana didn't even exist in 136)
