343's complete package IP configuration

Okay I'f re-setup my whole server and it works now. You can't click "I Finished Installing" in VMware when it pops up, it will screw up your server or at least it did for me.

Now I'm at the point where I have to edit my serverlist.txt, whenever I change the standart ip to mine the server won't show up inside Perfect World.

It works when the IP is in this format 29000:10.0.0.51

But it doesn't work when the IP is in this format xxx.xxx.x.xxx

So I guess I have to convert my IP address to that new format?

All IP addresses are in the format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx There is no other format. Its just that you dont put 0 in from when its something else less than 3 digits. xxx is any number from 0-255 on all four parts.

Basically replace 10.0.0.51 with your IP. You do not need to convert it.

How about a straight static ip no local ip... Setting it up with port forwarding is ok, works, but would rather shove it off to its own IP so I can send a subdomain to it.


Changing all LANIP to 127.0.0.1 and WAN to staticIP works fine.

if your using VMware you want to change your network type to Bridge instead of NAT and that should solve everything, as for starting programs ( them not running ) re follow the guides 100%. only change you will make is when running cp -R * / you want to type it as chmod u+rwx cp -R * / to give write / root access to all files since the VMWare does not run as an ex4 partition. thats all there is to it ^^
