About DDOS Attack

my firends got problem with server laging, i got ping for 200ms to his server, first trying to run the server with 60 user, there is no problem, but at a few months the problem come.

every minutes the server always lag, and some times it disconnected client from server, but it always got lower than 200ms ping.

first time i think it was cause his server, but the server have 16Gb Ram with Quad Core @2,5ghz, and have 500Gb hdd. and i think it not cause from server, then i think again, maybe from ISP. if it from ISP, why it always got lower than 200ms ping

or it was posible from DDOS attack?

can someone help on this?

If good enought, how far client from server?
If in one town or (better) in one local network, how about iptables configuration (drops, denies etc)?

DDOS attack has no solution, Cisco helps more protection is not 100% guaranteed, you should be aware of the attack and the time to contact the Data Center to make it a general blockade, DC All of the reputable support these cases.

From a look at memory usage of your machine if it is not climbing alone.

Agree with 1 and 5. '-' 2gb uplink failure most of the attacks and Cisco Firewall f*cking the remains.

the client and distance only 1 meter from server, that was my PC besides his server(Home, his my neighborhood), but using different IP ISP and modem's

and still no luck with that condition, if server running for more than 3 hours, it will be laging, but the ping still normal. even only one user connected.

1. the connection already good with bandwith 10 mbps from my local ISP, and it runs smooth with 60 users at leas for 3 hour.

4 using proxy shield for $10000/mo >.< this is realy expensive at my country, more than my salary working at the office >.<

i only using standar firewall that i got from ronny tutorial, and only open port 29000, and for port 8080 that can only access local.

hmmmmm... what about if i change the operating system from UBUNTU to Debian? will it solve this case???

Contact your Data Center, remember that consumes bandwidth attack, you can have a very bad surprise at the end of the month. My problem was solved attack after two weeks of intense attacks by the company, after going to end up blocking.

yeah.. contact your datacenter to get more bandwith, 100Mbps = $500/mo
if you got ddos 200Mbps so u will pay $1000/mo, if got ddos 1Gbps you need to pay $5000/mo. only thats solution, they not pay bandwith for dos, but we must pay bandwith because ddos, if dont believe. you can ask to hosting community/to datacenter about ddos, and they will say to you. 1 solution!! money ;)

that was imposible, at my country to got 3mbps bandwith you must pay about $100 - $200, i can't calculate it if 100mbps @_@

hrace009 and me from Indonesia, the ISP called Speedy ( but i think it should change the name to Slowdy). It cost about 180$ to have UP TO 3Mbps Bandwith, and for most area only have 1Mbps is the faster...
i wish i live in USA or other country that have fast connection internet at low cost...LOL :)

talk to your datacentre about ddos protection.

if they dont do it, i would recomend Hébergement et Solutions Internet - OVH for it. One of the fastest cheapest hosts, they will struggle to ddos that.

They only charge you for how much data goes through their network to your machine not how fast it is transferred which I love about them

they seems only care about money, their connection was very bad, and have very long delay, i see they have got 200 donation, but they never fix their internet conmection

Don't give up. Such a type of pvpservers everywere (noob momeymakers), and not just in pwserver dev, but if they attack you, their servers can't be better than your's. Just be patient... they will be abaddoned by players
