I'm the kind of person that thinks filters are ridiculous though... stripped the one in my client clean...
I've run forums before and word filters always caused more problems then they solved

yes, and if your goal is to make no word censored, do NOT just entirely delete this file (as I believe this will cause problems) merely make badwords.txt an EMPTY FILE !!!

...oh and badwords.txt is merely for chat; if you intend to filter/un-filter other things such as character or faction name; that's an entirely different 'filter'...
it didnt work for me. filters still filter
I borrowed this from the Devestation client since an empty file liked to crash the client/server daemons with filters on me

I left an empty line in the file, it worked fine for me.
just add something useless like 012345678909876543210 without using symbols like []*/ and such and will be ok. filter lists need at least 1 line to filter
client side chat filter:
configs.pck/badwords.txt
server side faction/name filter:
/[PathToPWServer]/gfactiond/filter
Or an empty space? That way it filters nothing :P

Oh so that is what the squares are... never could figure out why they were there but just left them
well if somebody figures it out they can use it too.
