    CPW Issue

So.. I am using CPW as it is making updating easier for everyone..
The thing is that it allows to update only 18 versions ahead or so.

    For example:

Element version of my client after installing is 4 (the one you see on patcher).
The game was auto updating w/o problem till version ~22, and after i made another patch it no longer updates from version 4, but users have to install manual cup patch.

I have done some tests and it looks like that:
    - Now my game version in config\element\version.sw is 26
    - I override it with for example 6
    - Auto updater comes with error 109: Game update terminated
    - I change game version to 7 and it updates without problem

When I will release new patch it will be same, although the patcher will bug at version 7 and update from 8

    I tried with patcher 1.3.9 and 1.4.4

    Any ideas?

The old pwi patcher does same.
That means that client is too old to be updated through patcher. Somelike it can hold about 20 version files from cpw.

Dunno if they have same issue in 1.4.4 client. Just try to download old pwi client and update it through patcher from pwi.

Well considering first time I downloaded pw it took like 5 years to patch... I don't think they do.

The problem isnt too high a difference, its a problem with what .inc file the patcher.exe looks for.

For some reason(?) if a client is e.g. v60 and the CPW is v80, it will look for v-21.inc

This doesn't make any sense, but its what happens. Just duplicate your highest number v-x.inc file to 1 version or two higher.

i can confirm that. the client has some hard coded number skips. i remember having the same issue with some patch version that was a "unwanted number" in chinese terms, as it was the name for some civil rights organization. I'm not 100% sure but i think it was even in the default filters file.

Be prepared to find other things of that kind when you mess with wanmei files and/or programs
