Crafting NPCs
Okay, so i just started developing and whatnot. I've been able to do a lot without mistakes considering its my first time. My only issue is setting up items to craft.
I started out editing elements.data client sided with tekk's editor and server with Icefire's. When making an NPC (or just putting a new item in an existing craft npc)they wont craft items that i put in there. I get an error saying "Error in service function request". I saw on here a couple people had issues with this error and ppl said it was because the elements.data werent synch.. but i didnt find any relating to crafting.
I got some advice to edit both sides with Tekk's editor since they had a similar issue. Well i tried that, fixed what i needed to, and no luck. Even tried starting with fresh client and server elements.data and editting them at the same time. No luck.
So is there anyone that can help me fix this lol its bugging me like crazy.
Btw, here is an example of what i do:
For crafting a weapon, starting from the npc itself, i edit these lists with Tekk's editor:
List 57 <- NPC
List 54 <- Production
List 68 <- Manufacturing Items
List 4 <- Weapon
I connect the lists properly. I can get the npc to have a craft option, see the items i want to craft, the the material(s) i need to use to craft, just when i click "Produce" i get the error.
I've looked over the server and client side over and over again, and they appear to be synch.
Am i possibly skipping a list o.O?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Crafting NPCs
Icefires editor should be able to:
Export from Client
Import to Server
This is how you should always do it.
Unless new Versions I believe it does all.
The difference between manufacturing items etc in game is the structure to it as well:
- Tailor
- Blacksmith
- Jeweller
- Nothing
So for eg a production list would have to be made for one of the above, if you look under the ID of some of the production there will be an ID that identifies its structure something like 158 (Doing this from work so excuse me if the ID's are wrong) this identifies its structure
158 being Blacksmith
All manufacturing to be added to this production can be Blacksmith only and cant be mixed.
Converting from client to server is the best way about it with icefires editor because difference between client and server is big such as client information may only hold 20 blocks when a server will hold 22 blocks nudging some information down and with the converter function to his tool this recognises and displays everything where it should be + it halfs your work load.
If all else fails add me to msn: nofxpunkerbrian@hotmail.com I can help you much better at home and with free time but I hope this helped.

Re: Crafting NPCs
Thank you soooooooooo much. I went through and changed a couple things, and sure enough it worked. I changed all the items in List 68 to have blacksmith (even if they werent weapons, which i knew didnt matter), then went to List 54 and changed that value to blacksmith, and sure enough it worked. Really, thank you this was bugging me, and i knew I was just overlooking something small. But u saved me a lot of time lol

Re: Crafting NPCs
I was just wondering what specific NPC you were having issues with crafting? I have been having issues with the "Speedup Aviatic Synthesize" ( "Aerogear Forge" for you PWi'ers). I go to craft a faster flyer with all req. materials and it gives me an error, and wont let me do it. I will surely see if this may be a fix, but while I am in there I may fix another one that may be a problem that I have not yet run across.
