Does anyone know the format that the files under the GAMEDBD server actually are ? Just curious because I've heard conflicting things but wondering if anyone knows for sure.

They are built upon the Berkley database but have been highly modified and compressed to work inside the gamedbd.
You can convert them back to decompressed format using ./gamedbd.conv with some library files (use search button) but even then the format is slightly different to the stock BDB, so use a hex editor.
compat-db-4.2
Is the required library.
