Try this:
route add default gw modemip
In modemip type your modem's configuration IP.
Good luck.

Lol, when I answer a thread it takes some 10 hours to be replied.

Maybe because people have better things to do than refresh the forum every 10 minutes and reply to everything they see with an instant solution.
As for the original topic, I had some trouble at first with making my server public, but once I'd got all the help I went through my server VERY carefully to find just 1 IP wrong in a couple of files.
My suggestion is to re-install the server if that's possible and make sure you follow all the guides from the start because you never know you might have moved or deleted files by accident.
still not working das...i tried as u said
a bit of help plz?
you have to chmod your java jdk's to 0775 to fix the half pwadmin screen.
do this in terminal
chmod -R 0775 /usr/java/
it should work then im not sure if you have to restart jetty or not.
and to the original poster its most likely your router/firewall preventing your friends from joining when you forward your ip you specificly forward it to your public ip than you private, say my ip was 192.168.x.x and my public ip was 24.106.x.x when you forward your ip, in the server your using 192.168.x.x but when the public connects to 24.106.x.x they are connecting to your 192.168.x.x
not working:((((((((((((((((((((((((
ok
do this apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
i have a feeling you didnt install that.
could not fiind package openjdk-6-jre..omfg
apt-get update
then
apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
it wont update says somethg with failed all over
apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
is the command make sure your typing it right and try pinging google
type ping www.google.com if it works you should get pings, then hit the ctrl + C buttons to stop it
if that doesnt work then its your server not connected to the internet.
