[help] how do i make server 136 work with client 140

as the title says.. i have a running 136 server but if i fully update my client to 140. it wouldnt connect. any guides?. other servers did it. why cant they share it?

using IDA disassembler with Hexrays i have found out the server checks the version on elements.data and throws an error if found to not be a certain value. i will have to experiment with editing the value (XVI32) and see if i can get it to accept a 1.4.0 elements/gshop when i find the time.

i suppose the simplest way is to get elements/gshop from as many different versions as possible then start comparing the first several bytes to see what changes...

just a thought on my part...
