Hello, i really like perfect world that why i want to make my own private server

can anyone help me please by showing me a nice tutorial about how to make a private server please?? I don't care the version, all what i want is a perfect world working private server.
<colinux or vmware. I DONT CARE!!!!>
I JUST WANT A WORKING SERVER!!!
i tried all those tutorial in the forum and no one work for me
I don't know if it me or the tutorial.
Please i really want to make my own server.
please help me !!!!

some opened ports
some perfect world packages
wamp server if need
a vmware pw package
Web browser

i hope it will work because i have a desktop and i'm using a d-link internet USB adapter.
in vmware ubuntu, i cant ping websites.

in vmware just use bridged mode for connection u can do that by right click on the network icon on the lower of the vmaware window and select the option under birdged too and then it should work
