how to change max char lvl?

Hello everybody, im lost in this and ive googled it and i cant find a way to do it so i thought id bother asking here, im using hrace009 vbox server and i want to change max lvl for the chars if that is even possible from 101 to 150 or the highest possible, i worked adding alot of exp to a char and it got as far as 101 but kept over 200%++ in exp bar being unable to lvl it up further than 101, so i want to know if its possible and how to change that top lvl, i tried doing it in pwserver/gamed/ptemplate.conf as ive seen said on threads or forums but still it stops at 101.

Any help or pointers will be highly appretiated. thanks in advance.

Well, first off, I have to admit, I have a personal bias on this one. I think anyone who asks how to increase the level cap above 150 is a blathering retarded idiot! (see/search -- any of my rants on the subject).

Secondly, un-biased, as a moderator, it is against the rules to bring up the same thing over and over and over and over again. This does need to be enforced to whatever extent that it can so that the forum doesn't become flooded with the same question 1,000,000 times over...

It seems as if everyone is against it, so they just go "look in this hugeeeee file for a string I wont tell you". I am against 150+, because it is retarded. But I just want knowledge.

Being a person that always seeks knowledge and to learn new things myself, I can understand that. I also know "never say never", so you cannot say that it cannot be done, but on the 'front' of things, it cannot be done. This game was designed with 150 as the absolute maximum achievable level. This is why I say "To those who do not like it, make your own damn game (from scratch)"... That way you could decide whether to make the max level 10 or 1,000 or 1,000,000 ;)

I do not say it to be mean, I do not say it to shoot down anyone's 'dreams', I do not desire to trample on ones thirst for knowledge. It's just that some things are easier than others, some things were "meant to be", and some things were just "not meant to be". I think setting the level cap above 150 is just one of those things that just aren't meant to be... Think of it this way, if I told you I was going to put a Lamborghini engine in a Mustang you'd probably tell me "that's not even possible". Well let me assure you, with enough determination, and money it is VERY POSSIBLE. Well, same thing with raising the PW level cap above 150, you ask me how to do it and I'm going to say "it's not possible", however I'm sure if you have enough determination (and or money) it's very possible.

Yes, I've also heard that some people have done it already. Honestly; I still think it's absolutely retarded! There's much more to it than merely increasing the cap. If all you did was increase the level cap, you're going to be lacking even more much needed content to get there. (and don't even get me started on these servers that have 1,000,000x EXP rates, cuz thats GAY too!) So if one wanted to 'properly' raise the level cap above 150, not only would they need to figure out how to do that, they would need to add massive amounts of content; including but not limited to: NPC's, quests, monsters, dungeons, bosses, items, armors, weapons, resources, etc... ...

I hate to admit it, but maybe it's a good thing no one will share how to do it, out of anyone who already knows how. Which is really strong coming from me, since I'm all about sharing knowledge. And, I only say this because I can almost guarantee that too many servers would be plagued with ridiculous level caps (like 999), and the "developers" would be too fucking lazy and or incapable of adding all that needed content to maintain the games 'balance'...

Naa', for now and for me I'll stick with 105 and 1x (same rate as PWi), maybe 2x (all the time) so when I run 2x events it'll actually be 4x :) Because honestly I think the game lacks much needed content to get to even only 105. I'd like to see what may strike my mind in the future so I can happily and proudly raise it to 109 so that FB109 can be open :D buuuuuuut, that's just me :))

pwAdmin click xml change lvl to 151 so simple... im level 90000 on my server (well was before i re did my server)

Also as for increasing i know of 2 way to do it. which is so stupid

preset the characters to lvl 150 and change lvl 1 exp tables to lvl 150 and just increase the level (in theory your higher level but your still lvl 1) for example anyone see blue dragon network. there exp tables are completely modified were you start lvl 1 and do a quest to hit 120 to get onto the right exp tables

basicly in short.... lvl 120 is lvl 1 i personally find modifying stuff liek that really really pointless. but some like to change some weird stuff. and if you dont know what i mean try blue dragon network they did a good job on it but you will see what i mean by the exp tables just by playing for 5 mins

I think 12x exp and sp is a good rate as thats on norm pw anyway. I do like to have the drop rate and crafting soc rate a little higher though, on a pserver with a smallish population with normal drop rates its hellva lot harder to get hold of rare drops like red mats.

My level cap is 102 atm but I am thinking of developing an expansion with a main quest line and increasing it to 120 but thats the highest itll ever go i think

Some people, myself included, miss the old PWI from years gone by. Before anniversary packs (and its clones) and constant cost of 1 million per gold. When quests were worth doing and players weren't all hyperlevelling nubcakes. That is why people would enjoy it.

I have to agree with Das 200%. I am sick and tired of this 12 year old mentality I see with most private servers, and their 300,000x -- or freshly created characters that are 100/120/150 WHATEVER...

Seriously, what is the point!? I wouldn't see how a server like this would keep ANY players for any reason (PK or not), because after you've been playing for a week [if you make it THAT long], and you're already maxed out -- it's gonna get VERY boring VERY quick =\

The reason I even came to pw development in the first place is cause normal pw is getting more and more crappy, you can get to 100 doing only fc and cultis lmao.

Thank you everyone for the answers, i never knew that way to search on google and i appretiate you showed me it im just a dad not an expert who wants to make this work to play at home with my kids because they love this game and got me into it aswel, i have a very basic knowledge of computers but i manage to get some stuff done and i saw this chance, but i dont know everything and sometimes even my searching techniques fail too, so i really appretiate this helpfrom all of you, i dont intend to move it higher than 150 ust to there i think is enough and just was because i think 101 was kinda limited and didnt seem right as the top level :S i dont knowit just didnt felt right that after working that much to get there thats finally the end of everything just right when the real fun begins being stong enough and having that supergear available and not being able to do much with it cause no chance to lvl further. Anyways thank you everyone for the help.

You could use 343 release it has a max level of 119 and its a really great release.

the general idea is to be able to play it without the really really slow leveling.... high rate servers people tend to just leave and never return, i hear more ppl saying high rate servers are for 12 year olds or are 12 year olds that whine so much for being a lower level then most people. Low rate servers or even a mid rate server would be better. 300,000x rate sounds rediculous. pk server whether you got high rates or not, you still gotta craft or get the same gear anyways and someones ALWAYS going to be better.

theres also people that like to quest and pk so doing a high rate removes alot of the questing. which then dissapoints people.

just my opinion and what ive heard.
