I need alot of help

I hope i didnt post wrong this is my frist thread on this site. anyways... Im new to all of this (i tried making a private server with VBox but nothing worked so i need to figure out where to get server files (good ones) and yes i have looked all over this board trying to find some that work with Win 7 x64) do i need to use vbox or what because vbox says it has no network access and i assume thats what i need to connect to if i have to use vbox. like i said im really new. My friend had a private server fr this game and i wanted to play it but they took it off the net so i cant play it now so i want to build my own. ty for any help.

the vbox ones work fine as long as you know howto configure it right but of you really want to learn i suggest you look into starting with a fresh linux install on vbox and then install the other things needed like apache xampp jakarta java openssh mysql create your dbo database then download and install WinSCP on your pc so u can connect to the linux on vbox and copy your server files over configure all your server files and your apache im sure u can find info on all of this im talkin about on these forms search and if that dont help search google trust me it takes time but you can do it

in the begining i blind with linux things.

what i know only windust and windust.....

but because of this server make's me courius, then i try about 1 year to get all thing's runs like's it does.

now iam using this server for my writing for final exam in 27 march.

Ok what exactly do i ned to have to run a server? im making it for just me for now. How can i run it off vbox? and what serverfiles do i need? i got XAMPP and WinSCP so far

you will need virtual box, ubuntu linux server, install vbox
create a server image in vbox mount the ubuntu linux server in vbox run your image and install your ubuntu linux server on it then read the forums they have all the info u need to setup the pwserver on it

well first you download WinSCP and then you make sure openssh-Server is installed on your vbox ubuntu server then you would get your ip from vbox by typing ifconfig and open WinSCP under session type in you ip and your vbox admin user and password you use to login to ubuntu server then hit login then you would create your dir u want the server files to be either /pwserver or /server and you drag your server files into that dir or the tar file into that dir and untar/unzip them then your done then u can go through all the config files in that dir and change the specified ips to your vbox ip/local host
