Looking for information on private servers

I have been going through alot of posts, guides, etc trying to find out info about how to get a private server started. I have a few questions.

1. It was mentioned that the private server uses MSSQL, is there any way that could be converted into MYSQL?

2. I currently have a webserver which is used for my guild site I currently run on a private server, would it be possible to use the same server to run a PW private server?

3. What are the requirements of running a PW server, I.E which OS is needed, how much memory and any other helpful information would be great.

4. Can I use PHP to connect a website to the game for things like making user accounts, buying cubi and making a ranking list?

See the guides. There are some for setiing up a server with mysql also.

If its a Server running Linux and not a Webhoster.

8 Gig RAM recommended, 4 GIG minimum to run almost all maps. Linux only.

if you are good in doing MySQL within php then yes.

wow mad id never thought id run into u on here. u want to run a server eh? u remeber me? the best thing to do to run a server is to find one to own outright or to have some one host it for u. most website hosting places dont do that u need some one who will let u use the entire server for any thing not just web hosting. if u have a good gamer rig u can possible run it ok on ur pc if its linux and if u have a good upload rate for or internet. besides all of that im not sure. most cubi adding things like voting for the server is a command and its run on the server ususaly with the servers website, which is also on the server. and also making user accoutns would fall ther e to so scripting is required or some form of that in general. ill help u if u really wanna get into it. gimme a link to ur website please and ill give u my msn and i can help u.
