Agreed, I share my account info with very very few people, mainly just my partner, who I live with, so I can slap him silly if he does something bad.
The only other people have been my co-dev/admin who I trust 100% because I've known him a long while now.
When I have shared my account, I've changed the passwords when I even got a tiny, tiny inkling that they're not my friend anymore.
But anyway, it made me laugh when I heard from someone (incidentally someone who joined my server by Googling, which is amazing as we're invite-only Alpha Testing atm) that BD had been shut down. I went through the lists of the incarnations of the same server and I think I counted at least 5.
Most other servers have had only 2 maximum, and the second ones are usually re-branding after adding a lot of content or bug fixing.
It does make me angry a little when I say to people on the private servers that I play that Tideborn and content that PWI has but Privates don't is VERY VERY VERY unlikely to come out anytime soon (We all know we'll have to wait for the *ahem* accidental leak *ahem* at PWI before we get the stuff that's in their servers.). I've made it a bit of a personal goal to tell players that it's not going to happen and anyone who says it will lies!
Imho, we will see much more custom content in the next few years from talented developers, like there are here, for PW because we won't be able to get the current PWI server files.
Maybe we'll end up with better content and PWI will pay someone from here for something they made:lol: more likely than BD (or anyone) getting Tideborn!
Personally, I am aiming for a pretty unique PW server too, so I'm not going to share my idea, but I aim to get players through the merit of the server, not bribing them with cubi or rewards (which is against the rules of most voting sites anyway).
Anyone can say they're "Number 1" and the ones that say it most often are usually the ones that need the ego boost because they fail at so much.

Yea, I haven't even shared my login info for 'official' with anyone. That includes my real life wife LOL. Kinda sad, a few people have told me their login info, mainly RL friends that also play on official with me. In all honesty though I prefer not even knowing other peoples logins, that way I can't get blamed for anything. (and luckily for them, I am an honest person)
Funny thing you mention that. See the other thread that says they're coming out with a motorcycle mount now... Funny because private servers have had a 'motorcycle mount' for quite a while now... So sadly enough, surely no one would 'get paid' for their ideas. If they were a 'cool' company though they would actually pick someone (one person, maybe two) out of the bunch (us) and actually hire them on. I remember when a friend and I were mapping for a popular first person shooting game, my friend actually got hired as a mapper (for future projects) for the company that created the main game!! I actually had an offer too but I declined for two reasons (I did not want to relocate, and I did it as a hobby; I did not want to make it a JOB)... Well, now my fortunate friend is a level designer for this company still to this day. Of course they could take the other approach and attempt to shut us down, or even attempt to sue people. It's all up to whoever is 'in charge' at the company(s) involved.

worked for long time as gm in a server name perfectworld algels and demons .. and what I saw was lies and dishonesty on the part of the admin known here as ... pastime4u used the excuse of hacker attacks to disappear with items from donors and when he questioned a GM simply ban the GM .... to raise your server in the top 100 he edited and distributes items when reaching the desired rank pretended to wipe away any items ..... I believe that this kind of garbage is ruin any server
to combat the lies and injustices of Pangu (pastime4u) I created my own server here in Brazil and today I am sure having fun with friends
ps ... as to the English friend over there ... everyone knows of the existence of google translator

PWs so money grabbing and huge they would sue long before hire.
I tried to aproach the PW patch installer for pwi with tips on doing stuff without the source code (pwi doesn't have the source code either) and it seems they are not even allowed to talk to people who "run illegal private servers", even after i explained i myself dont own a server, and just develop for fun.
Just look at pwi, the entire thing is setup for money.

It kind of is pitiful how little PWE is allowed to do... Wanmei is quite out of touch with the playerbase of PWI and PWE... the official game would be much, much better if PWE was allowed to change more then just gshop

I guess this are all same with the regions/country that franchises PW. Even simple guild logo edits/updates are done by CN. They're also restricted on what items should be in the GSHOP.

PWE is a subsidiary (that can't do anything on their own), all the other versions were licensees which is an entirely different story but licensees have WAY more freedom in what they can do...

They have an elements "localizer" supplied by pw bejing that allowes them to edit almost everything, but they simply are not allowed to edit anything but text labels.

Amen. I apologize for the necro but I stumbled across this thread, as well as this one. This is only the tip of the iceberg, however, and in recent weeks a lot of players have left Dragon Network. When i bayed the server i was very new in this things and i lost a very load of money and respect among all perfect world community including but not limited devs.
Bl00d-dragon have been shut down because of the reasons:
1 Lack of players
(24 players on all working days and max 50 on weekend)
2 Lack of Money
(since pastime4u/BD/PanGu whatever... made a lot of money then wiped the server i had to give all donation back to them in items and at 4x and they all took all items and then nothing left to donate for and i`m not saying i din not get money out of it but not as much as i invested or enough to maintain the server running)
3 Bl00d-Dragon had a lot of stolen content ...and i can`t remove all of it an less i work for one year.

I admit that what i did was wrong and i truly regret it (with bash and the other dev)...me and Bash are friends now hope i can please you all and become friends all together.
Bl00d-dragon server i intend to sell it so i can recover some of my money....
We real are truly regretful to inform the BD server that i had to take it down - but please know that that server is a donators only server and isn't good for you aside that server blue dragon is totally free, i wanted yo give them all refunds on blue dragon but that would meant to shutdown that server later on because of lack of money so i decided to not do so since the only person that is a very bead moron is BD/PANGU/PASTIME4u>whatever his name is, so please blame him not me ice tried with all my powers to make that server better and more enjoyable when i took it remember that i given for free a lot of items etc, i did a lot of mistakes (like ddos-ing [influenced by BD/and enemies of vendetta] changing the rules etc.)to but the biggest one is that i did was baying the server :thumbdown:

I remember you logging on recently and asking why there hasn't been that many people online. Neruda is the reason. People are sick of her bullying and manipulating others. She's under the impression that she can do whatever she wants and get away with it. You do nothing to show her otherwise. No matter how many complaints were sent to you, you did nothing. You did nothing because she donates money. That's fine and all, but everyone should have to follow the rules. I can understand you not wanting to lose a source of income but have fun with having one player be the only source of it. People will continue to leave, or simply not join in the first place, unless you start making some changes.

LOL my rules are exactly the same as vendetta except to the part you aren`t allowed to kill white names. So if i`m wrong then all are wrong Bash to.
And yes i asked that but now it seems to me that are many people coming online and to our server because of the changes we did and the above mentioned people.
And i dint receive any complain about her so far...you have to post it on forum so i can take care of the problem if you keep them to yourself i never know

I remember you having another set of rules not long ago. Rules that were original and much different from this. They were well written and didn't leave any questions as to what was and wasn't allowed. They were fine, meaning you didn't have to use someone else's. These rules are decent but they aren't yours. And yes, I've read these rules plenty of times. I even laughed at them when I saw the part about not PKing white names at quests. They can go out of PK mode if they want to. I've also noticed the number of players reporting other players for PKing them when your rules specifically say "No reporting anyone on the forums". How do you explain that one? Carebear rules like this, and inconsistencies in enforcing them, are hurting both your server and your reputation. Even your own members have a hard time taking you seriously though they might not admit it to you.
Speaking of inconsistently enforcing rules, let's talk about favoritism. If there's anything players hate, myself included, its when people get away with OBVIOUS harassment, bullying, and manipulation simply because they throw some money down every now and then. There's one of two explanations for that. You don't see it, which is a serious problem and you need to open your eyes. Or you don't care, which is also a serious problem and you need to start caring before everyone leaves. If you need help then I can do that. I'm a generous person.

I am who I am. I suppose you can make guesses but in the end, what good will it do you? Not much really. I doubt you know me anyway as we didn't really speak. I think you'll be better off putting that brainpower to more useful things.
