I actually prefer developing alone, no fun if others are going through solving things and you miss the action :thumbup: Not to mention the majority of people our out for their own needs with a handful of exceptions that actually do want to help with nothing in return.
The risk you take with asking for help in forums and such is that although the person may not ask for anything in return, there is always the chance they will just take what they want, with or without you knowing.

Finding a DEV for free isn't always to hard if they enjoy their work and don't mind helping out a community, as per the one we have know is quite good, most of the best developers I know work for free under some sort of stipulation within the project.
Most of the more "popular" servers tend to become lazy and forget about the users and focus more on their own wants/desires instead of trying to balance out both between the community and themselves.
Though again... do you have proof and can you read our minds or us to say that we would use the money for our own benefit when it can go towards the server itself. This is supposed to be a thread for looking for developers but it has turned into a troll thread as proved by yourself and others on here.

Believe me, I know this and I prefer to develop by myself that is why I am the only Developer that works with Web Development / Server Development and Server Integrity and I wouldn't trust most other people to help out unless they know well in what they preach.
The truth is a lot of a people demand money either because they think they're on a professional level which some of them are, but some are just teenagers that want money for their own green and social acceptance. I personally wouldn't mind paying a Developer, but it would depend on the quality of his/her work.
We try to keep everything within close view, but then again most developers aren't allowed to use and/or view our server files, we have to overlook this process until we can fully trust the Developer. Such as our developer know who is continuously working on our Rappelz / Prius projects to open the client / client data for us to modify freely. He doesn't wish to be paid but more to help within the community and he likes what he does so.

Yes, but an overage of knowledge can cause side-effects which include headaches, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision and the latter... sounds like I'm talking about a Anti-histamine..... xD. Though yes it can be hard working on a project when your so busy, we've done this as a Hobby not as a way of monopolizing a community, since we are a F2P network we thought it would be nice to get more people that would know what their doing to do some slightly editing when we are not able to.

Being a PC technician is his job so yes he would be expect to be paid. Developing on a private server is not. While it is highly likely they will get more money than its costs to run we still have no idea what they plan to do with any excess. They could set up a system where they stop allowing donations once the next months expenses have been covered. They could donate the excess to angelemu to help development. We cannot just assume that they are greedy and will take excess money without any proof.
On a side note, nice work with angelemu.

What happened to the community here? All I see here these days is people arguing and insulting each other. People here want to hack other servers after they shunned the Dragon Network so much for the DDOS. Turn back into the nice helpful community you once were and stop being so insulting to one another.
Also how is a wanting to be paid for development any different from the Russians wanting to sell their programs here? We have been spoilt by Ronny's free tools and disliked people trying to sell us tools and now we are asking to be paid.

Imo theres two types of servers.
For-fun servers that are open to working with other devs and enjoy their work alongside their players.
And wannabe "professional" servers that intend to open a server simply to promote themselves or make money.
A "professional server" looking for qualified developers generally offers money in return for their work as chances are the developer doesn't want to play in the game or like it.
A for-fun server with relaxed non-professional community normally has developers that also play the game and develop it because they like it. It's also a chance for them to showcase their work somewhere that it will be seen by alot of people, their friends included.
You really have to pick, you cant just post a thread demanding a "professional" developer without any reward.
If you choose to find a fun developer who doesn't have a full understanding of the game yet, then look to your friends or community.
I've worked with 3 members of deva community and eventually got them into the fun of making game updates with me simply by giving them links, answering questions and explaining how to do stuff. It takes some time but it can be much more rewarding. thats how i learnt PW after-all, eistiger and a few other devs answered my questions and helped me pick it up, i had no previous developing or linux knowledge and eventually started doing some dev work at a popular server i played with my friends.
I am not saying they should be paying developers and that nobody will work for free, the fact is if they want to go down that path then they need to be prepared to do all the stupid payment stuff that other "Professional" servers do. Which as you can probably tell by my tone of voice, i dislike.
I really do encourage developers to team up and work on updates, but "hiring" them for the job never really works in my experience. Get a friend and work with them.

I completely agree. I don't really trust many people to get the job done right. And quite frankly I prefer to do everything myself so that I can be certain it is done correctly. However, I am considering the time it takes to do medial things like modify 4782 entries.... Eyesore....

First off I have already answered most of your complaints here in my original post. I wish people would learn to read and retain the information for more than 5 seconds.... As with all of our private servers, I taught myself how to do all of this stuff with the assistance of this forum. And neither Uebari nor I believe that you should have to pay for anything on a private server.

Why is it that everytime I post a thread being serious, someone always comes in and starts trouble and starts nitpicking at medial details.... Same thing happened on Epvp when we setup a test server for one of our original games. Some guy came in and started insulting us for not giving the original dev team credit for their work on Epvp, when we clearly had a huge Credits page on our site....
And actually we have 4 Devs on our staff. One being myself the other Uebari, StonedGrim who is a professional developer for various systems, and one who will remain nameless since he's a 'surprise guest star'. I was simply looking for someone to do the editing I tell them to do.... Guess the development community really has become quite petty. And here I used to brag about how fun and friendly developers are for PW and here on Ragezone.
P.S. Drakaer, I don't care who you are, a popular or famous developer or the pope or even the president. If you come onto my thread and start insulting me because of your own insignificant ideals then naturally I'm going to put you in your place. Regardless of the ramifications. That's just plain rude and inappropriate.

All due to some kid that decided to be over-zealous with stereotyping. It was honestly just an ask for help and that is how I saw it. They did admit they were aiming for a professional atmosphere, but I know rather well most professionals usually end up becoming close friends over time. In all honesty, I've always tried to assist people that ask kindly and use nice grammar and formatting which Heaven did. If you didn't want to help or just wanted to stir shit up (like renan did) you really shouldn't have said anything.
We are supposed to be a helpful community, doing things like this just tears us further apart with only small grasps to things we have in common. We weren't even this divided on the PW-France anticipation.
tl;dr don't cause a shitstorm and claim you didn't do it, or use only stereotypes as "factual" backups to your claims.

Not very high APS though since they're so big and heavy. If I'm not mistaken the APS on that fire-extinguisher is only .91 APS :laugh:
