every time i click the characters tab on the pwadmin webpage it get nothing no error just a blank page, any ideas on whats the problem? i figured it was a java issue i can edit everything else without a problem so far just cant view the character page.

it is connecting to the database with no errors. i can sign into admin. change controls fine. and im using the final release

Search... you are more then likely using an old version of pwAdmin (or are using Java 6 instead of Java 5 since Java 6 doesn't work properly with it) as this has been said many times before about the infinite load (or just a blank page)
i followed the documentation in pwadmin on ronnies page, it said to install Jdk6 my java version is 1.6.0_12 ill bump it down and give it a try your most likely right.
im using IE and ive tried it with firefox no luck, ill keep searching
update
i switched to the jdk1.5.0_05 still no change definitly odd, it has to be something with mine, and since i finnaly finished up HH ill look into it and retrace my steps

ok im still having no luck imma show you what i did to install pwadmin to my server to see if you can find where i went wrong.
i followed the basic installation on the pwadmin site for 1.7 / jetty-7.2.0 bundle and im using 1.8v of pwadmin
i installed php5-cgi and php-mysql "already had mysql" i then installed JRE 1.6 runtime enviroment "tried using the jdk1.5.0_05 but no luck" i tried jdk1.6.0.12 still no luck.
i extracted jetty to my desktop, and transfered it over to the server in the ./PWServer/ folder, edited the pwconf.conf "added all the right ip's and i opened pwadminconf.jsp
i set my password in Md5 in the pwadminconf.jsp "works fine"
i added the correct DB it connects to it with no problem
the only issue i still have is the character page doesnt load it doesnt give me an error just a page with nothing on it exept the tab for other options like accounts server management etc.
anyone see where i went wrong?
ill keep searching the forum but so far no one has this.
or has a fix for it
there is no more 1.7 either o.o

btw the best is a clean OS install ... try the guide and you will see - it works very fine ...

x.x i said ubuntu 10.x because i forgot the last 2 digits of the ubuntu image x.x and btw it IS possible to run a server on a desktop ubuntu image,anyways im using ubuntu server 10.10 and i posted how i installed it and i guess since all you people managed to do is joke in this thread must mean i installed it right and it must be a setting thats preventing the character screen from opening. oh well back to work then i find out whats wrong imma do some uber spamming on what the problem was. when i find or make a solution

Like I have said before... it honestly doesn't matter if you use desktop or server ubuntu releases, main difference is that the kernel is more geared to dealing with network related things in the server version (and the iso release has apache mysql bind php postfix and other common daemons instead of the desktop software)
You could use the server disc and install it to use as a machine for 'desktop' use and vice versa it doesn't matter all Linux kernel releases are near identical for whatever platform they are for the end suffix basically denotes what 'tuning' has been done to them to make them more efficient for that (you could easily make a generic kernel do the same thing and modify the kernel to your liking as well it really, really doesnt matter)
problem solved, it was corrupted i re-installed pwadmin and it works.
Ok i found the solution down to the whole reason why it didnt work in the first place.
if your using beasties dbo.sql, characters will not work on pwadmin, however if you use das2007's database in his guide it will work just fine
turns out when you dont have "roles" in your tables, the character screen will not show.
