this is interesting that u noticed this. When i was playing on visad's server and chatting with him he had changed these tables on purpose to alter the xp flow. So its not really a bug but something he was playing with intentionally. I remember him talking about this.
FYI... this is NOT a bug... as mentioned previously in the posts here, this was done intentionally. When I first arrived in the PW world, I found that the experience rates were hosed beyond believe. The teens and twenties shot by like they were nothing, the 90's crawled and post 100 was a terror to level, even on a x1500 server. When I looked I found that level 1-103 needed less experience combined then level 103-104 needed. These new experience rates were calculated using math, based on experience per mob at the specific level, a certain number of monsters to be killed at a specific level and more. In fact, almost 83 billion experience was removed from the game and it still remains a good experience rate. I do not have the files anymore that show my math formulas, but basically at the rates we had it would equate to the following. This of course changes based on the type of mob and other factors.
Level 1 = 2 mobs to get to the next level
Level 10 = 20 mobs to get to the next level
Level 50 = 200 Mobs to get to the next level
Level 149 = 2000 Mobs to get to the next level
The Visad
Then you are screwing your players over. Level 1 - 99ish will level faster then my stuff, then leveling will stop at roughly 103. Look at the EXP charts that PWI has and it speaks for itself. 99ish it goes from needing 300k to level, to 600k, then 1100k, then 1300k, then 1750k for every level after that all the way to 150. Add up the required EXP for 1 - 102 and then see how much it resembles the amount needed for 103-104.
At 1x the rates are slower for the lower levels and lot faster for the higher levels, with a steady pace all the way to 150, not a jack rabbit in the beginning and a wall at the end. It all scales correctly at the end and the player has to play a lot less to get to 150. PW experience is crap, it really is, they made it that way to stick it to the players.
This was designed with two servers in mind, a 1x server and a 50x server. Both used the same rates, after 2 or 3 months of game play we had level 70 or 80's on the 1x server.
Just to throw in my $0.02 (even though it's not needed): The 'official' PWE exp tables are not 'crap' meant to 'stick it to the players'; and I do not think anyone who so decides to set up a private server based on 'official' tables are 'screwing their players over' either. Now, before you think I am insulting you, I am not; I think it is really cool that you took your time to calculate an alternative exp table that may balance out the leveling experience more evenly throughout the game.
However, PWE has their 'official' EXP table set the way that they do so that not every player can become end-game level. Basically, in the 'official' game you have to prove your dedication to be able to make it to such a high level. Which I have to sit on this side of the fence, because I am sorry but, I do not want every Tom, Dick, and Harry being capable of having a lvl 105 character! Which by the way I think the 'official' games' hard level cap is set at 105 evidenced by the removal of FB 109 and the drop off of the exp table past 105. I think they just left themselves room for expandability in the future between 105 & 150 (which to my knowledge no one has even hit 105 yet in the 'official' PWI servers).
So to sum it up, personally I am still on a quest to build/config a private server as close to the 'official' servers as I will ever be able to. Visad, Although I will most likely never personally implement it, I do appreciate and thank you for your hard work on your 'balanced out' exp table!
Hey, i have a noob question xD but never resolved here...
How can I change the level limit?
Because I tried few things like change EXP Table (elements.data) and the /ptemplate.conf from server
But never with sucess, the level limit still at "150" !
There is another file that must be edited?
I tried "elements.data" both client and server side...
I tried /ptemplate.conf from server side...
Idk others files that can have an effect on the level limit...
elements.data has up to lv 150 - i think you need more entries in the exp table :)
i think --> right click on " player level upgrade chart 1 " -> export -> edit -> replace ?
It gives me an Unicode TXT file with all entries...
Do i need to add more lines and replace the new exp tables by the old one in the elements.data?
----------------------------------------------------------------
I tested it and doesn't work. The exp table still the same. "Replace" function doesn't work for this...
There is another way to add more entries?
k - ronny help :D cannot replace also - sry for non testing :( we need the same as config editor for nomal add :D
