pwAdmin can't understand how to?
I was dowload pwAdmin from codeplex, there was to folders:
1. etc/init.d/jetty
2. jetty-7.4.2
Then i put them in a root directory and change ip's in .pwconf.conf, but when to try ./jetty start in terminal, he tell me that "command not found". What i need to install or make?Can anybody pleease explain?
p.s: i know that i'm fck'n noob)
I think you will need to extract the .tar.bz file first before trying to start Jetty, also I think but not entirely sure that the .tar.bz file may have to go into the opt directory but would need someone else to confirm that.
already unpack. Like i wrote upper, there was 2 folders jetty-7.4.2 and etc/init.d/jetty
Jetty can go anywhere as far as I know. My thought would be to make sure you are in the right directory.
You may have to setup paths and things, its been a long time since I set mine up.Code:cd /root/jetty-7.4.2/ ./jetty start
Never use a GUI on your server. Download Ubuntu Server instead. Also sudo isn't going to work if you are root already. You probably need to make the script executable or something but I would seriously advise your to start again with Ubuntu Server and without a GUI.

i know. It's a ubuntu-server but with a gnome kit, it's make me easiest to customize it. After that will reinstall.
upd: btw i try to chmod 777 and you know... it started) but something going wrong =/

Everyone that comes here using a GUI has problems like the ones you are having. They get all these permission errors and things. It is a lot easier to just use the plain ubuntu server and avoid all these issues. You have no need for a gui anyway since you can do everything you need to via commanline anyway.

I really have no idea why it is so hard for people to follow 343's guide... I did it exactly with how he wants it to go (even though I don't like how he did it...) for Ozuru's test server and it took all of 60 seconds to get it up and running properly.

btw maybe i need to disable iWEB when serv starts? Because in this version of server that i have, iWEB is enabled, that's why changing the port helps at first time...

Trust me when I say, "I'm ALL about people wanting to learn for themselves"! However, granted I know there will probably be people who will just use it as it is (and not learn a damn thing), ONE of its purposes is so that people can learn based off of it (so I don't have to tediously answer questions on the forum) since everything comes already working in a nice little package.
