simple questions need opinions

anyways im using beasties files now, i can get everything running fine i changed every ip needed to be changed, and everything used all the right DB username and password stuff, and im having a little bit of trouble and i have a theory and was wondering if anyone can give they're opinion on it.

my server is currently running centos 5.5 86x-64x, anyways i cant use lampp "xampp" because i keep getting a 32bit lib error that i cant seem to find the lib files for. so instead i installed everything manually "phpmyadmin apache etc", so this is one thing to take into consideration.

and the second thing is, my server is currently running on eth1, eth0 will not work at all i cant even get anything from it, it pretty much says it cant find the ip from network.
anyways i was wanting to know is beasties files set to use eth0?
and if so how would i go about changing my eth1 to eth0 or do i even want to.
if you need console logs then ill provide some.
im using the status.php to find out if the server is online.

i know if i ran this on ubuntu i wouldnt be having problems, but yeah xD im a centos O.o
