Protip: Even if it doesn't show up, type the password and hit enter.
i tried..but show nothing..call me to enter the password =_=
It's not going to show anything. That's how it works. It doesn't display the letters you type, or *'s like in windows. Trust me, just type the password and hit enter. xD
He is right, I've helped others new to Linux with the same problem. It's not really a problem it's just more or less a security feature of Linux. You indeed will not see any visual confirmation that the machine received any of your input; but trust me - us. It is! just type it and hit <enter>

Try restarting your VM, then try to log in. I had the same problem until I restarted my VM a couple of times.
