Very-Very Newbie Guide for making Private Server

The ideal place to start would be to look into the "Resource Library" in the PW section. (It's listed in red). Make sure your machine meets the requirements to run the server, download the guide(s), read them (important step). Get familiar with the guides...maybe even print them and have them in advance to refer to during the setup. Have all the files required ready for installation. There are some video guides as well.

Before i find this web, I already have some server n client, i bought it from someone else But it have many bugs.
Is there any way to update it without erase my character in the game?
What should i do? can anyone tell me plz.

Where can i see server version?

Where can i see my client version?

for more information my PW use xampp and Mssql server.

Can any one teach me? I realy dont know programing

First, make a backup of ur database of ur current server...use this
In colinux:

cp -r /dbf/ /backup/
cp -r /export/ /backup/

After u update ur server then restore the database back...use this
In colinux:

rm -r -f /dbf/
rm -r -f /export/
mkdir /dbf/
mkdir /export/
cp -r /serv/backup/dbf/* /dbf/
cp -r /serv/backup/export/* /export/

To check ur server version use this
In colinux:

nano /home/glinkd/gamesys.conf

When i type nano /home/glinkd/gamesys.conf

i only get a blank black, and in the upper its only writen
GNU nano 1.3.8 File: home/glink/gamesys.conf

what should i do??

The glinkd folder is false there...

What should i do? what version should i update? for client should i update it to?
