What controls snow in an area/map?

I was wondering, what makes an area have snow and others have rain? That would be nice to know :P.

I'm not an expert (even though I play one on TV), but since there isn't "dynamic weather" in this game I would presume (since it IS static) it is just a "solid" part of the map/gfx itself... Don't know -- but I do know this is the one thing I wish was different about PW; I really wish they made it with dynamic weather (would've been much more real, and therefore much more cooler !)

Well you could have dynamic weather... with creature builders starting up some dynamic objects for the snow and rain every now and again... (it'd be predictable though)

Going with what das said, you could get more in depth and base it on a certain mob death, that would make it less predictable.

True, although it wouldn't be 100% truly 'dynamic' it would at least appear much more so... I just wasn't a particular fan of how ie... it's always raining in and near swiftwind... and well that's all I really remember for 'weather' in the game =\
