what i doing wrong to edit elements.data

hi, my version is "¤ The Complete PW Package ¤"

i need edit a item in elements.data.

i download, the latest pwtools SVN-Downloader, by svn.

open sELedit ...ok
choose File, load, CN_136_v101 Client..ok
edit the item ( only change the name of item , for test purpose )
choose save as, to save "the client Version"
choose export CN_136_v101 - Client to CN_136_v101 - Server

and upload to server in /PWserver/gamed/config/

so, i start the server using PwAdmin, and MAP server don't UP.

if i back the original elements.data, the server UP.

what i doing wrong?

Check if the Gshop is compatible with the elements.data... I mean, if the gshop have items that the elements doesn't have, the server will fail to start.

Well, is there a gap in the backups? Are you using the backup when you first had problems that you changed the name on, or the one that was working fine? Just wondering, what all did you change before? You changed JUST name? If thats all you have changed, listen to renan. You could have a invalid ID in gshop.data.

Make sure the ID of the item is not high. (30,000 max I think???)

Not sure where the gshop reference is coming in as the OP stated they only changed a name not an ID number or added to gshop. As far as the 32768 ID and above being in gshop, that will not cause maps to crash, at least not in my experience. It will simply tell you that item is not available from the boutique. It could be as simple as accidentally transferring the client elements data to the server, or somehow it corrupted the elements.data while exporting to server side. I would recommend if you have the original backed up, always a good idea, try to change the name again, re export, and upload to your server.

The item ids can be set above that, it will work. But if it's a item that can be equipped, it will have some functional or visual problems.

(Some of them can make your character invisible, if the ID is too big).

Try to put them in gshop and try to buy them. The server will say "This item is not available in the boutique". I'm pretty sure of it because I've tested id by id until I got an error with the items above id 32768

Hm good idea, for some reason my players are having trouble buying items from the gshop, I think you just solved it for me lol.
