    There is a reason authd was converted to use MySQL... No one wants to use MSSQL (the fact that MSSQL is slower, takes forever to install and setup properly doesn't help either)

    MySQL is popular because of how terrible MSSQL is, so sorry to burst your bubble but you are the only person who actually wants to use MSSQL

    I do not think MSSQL is slow, because in China many people are using mssql, almost no one would go and mysql. I do not know how you are configured, anyway, I do not think mssql fast. In fact, whether it is mssql or mysql, put it above the words used in pwadmin speed are similar. But one thing is pwadmin can only export to export part of the role of each (about 100 characters or so), and then will be prompted to export the role of failure. Do not understand is why? ! Another account, then sealed with pwadmin sealed reason there is always garbled, do not know if I have tried. Also, if someone can add a cyclic pwadmin functions like radio, then it can twgm as complete. Oh!

    pwadmin can import over 2k roles or more even in a cronjob and even on mysql. Why i know this? We use it to update our top players list hourly and a webrequest timeout of 60 seconds is more than enough. Just don't forget to set your file access rights for gamedb files just before you request the data, because if your pwAdmin is not running as root, at least the faction requests will fail.

    And don't forget to fix pwAdmin to properly escape stuff that might mess the sql update query, like `,´,'," etc. I posted what to change several times here.

    Does anyone ever really want to use any MS product o_O ?

    Here are reasons to go the other way (MSSQL => MySQL)!

    ...and here's an article that I admit I didn't read in it's entirety, but it seems to be un-biased, at least in terms of 'politics and hype' -- talking about benefits of EACH (though I definitely have to say MySQL is by FAR, better!) =\

    @343

    I somewhat disagree with that, Visual Studio is a fantastic IDE and I've never seen any IDE free or otherwise come close to it.

    Microsoft makes amazing developer tools etc, it is mostly their servers that are terrible though...
