    Yellow Arrow

    Hello

For some quests, a yellow arrow show the direction where the npc is. But for some others don't.

I wanna know what is the thing that control this? Tasks.data or another file?

    Re: Yellow Arrow

My guess would be it's the same thing that controls Auto Routing in PWI. Cuz if I'm not mistaken, the arrow only appears when your going to an NPC, and not looking for a mob, and I do believe auto route works the same way.

But then, I could be totally wrong >.>

    My suggestion is:
Compare Crazy Stone Quests in tasks.data, on some level you get the arrow to the npc to hand over the gems on other you do not.
Either this or it could be related to the 'npc waypoints' in precinct.clt(?), if the npc isn't listed as waypoint no arrow

    just my thoughts

Make new npc, add him to firts page of new quest...
1)Go npcgen and add him somewhere
Check ingame quest, if not succes...
2)Go to prestinct and add his coords in block of region he located
Check ingame quest, if not succes...
3)Somewhere in pcks i've seen file with coords of npc, but forgot where. Try to find and add there (not coords_data from new pwi)

Not quite sure... but I see some pretty clear patterns to it, might try to see if I can see any clear links...

    Re: Yellow Arrow

I don't know too specifically any differences between the yellow arrow you're talking about and a blue one for a 'self-made map location'...

Either way the guide arrows like this simply go off of the simplex coordinate data. Ie. go to your coordinate assistant and type in 111, 5 or whatever random location you desire, now there is a blue arrow pointed in that direction (unless you turn it off ofc)... You can turn this 'yellow' one on and off too in the quest log.

My guess is, it does go from precinct. A nice quick way to test would be to remove all NPCs from your precinct and see if you still get the nice little yellow arrow ;)

    Re: Yellow Arrow

you can set npc positions in precinct, but it only contains npc names. Since our npc names are pwi-style, and the precinct is still from my-en, i can tell for sure that it still works with the "wrong" precinct, which shouln't if it were somehow referenced by task.

If i remember right, in tasks there was an optional field for reward npc position which can be disabled.

Edit: i was wrong, there are no npc coords in tasks.data,
They are in coord_data.txt in configs.pck

No it isn't this file. This file is useless for client CN1.3.6, You can delete it and launch the game perfectly without it. Because this file is for PWI only.

i gnore this, just recognizes that my source is for dyn_tasks.data and not task_npc.data...
