The ways are different, Orb of Distortion for example. Should work on the shinigami the same way as it does on hollows. Furthermore, it is not yet fully uncovered by what means one becomes a vizard. Take your guesses.

As far as I get it, the Orb of Distortion washes away the wall between Hollow and Shinigami powers, therefore, I assume it will work both ways.

On another note about Urahara, heard a theory about Zaraki...
Remember he made a gigai that limits the users power (Rukia one) and an untracable gigai...
What if Zaraki was in the untracable gigai... it would explain why he had his zanpakuto before hand and can't remember his past.
