    SP Modification side by side

    Hey

    I've got a weird question through the modify operation for SP .

    When you apply a wrong code / query in timedjobid and excute, somehow it works with the latest working one before editing the new query and stucks at this part like

    wrong query
    if(@JobID = 'xxxx')-- sh1t
    begin
    exec _ADD_ITEM_EXTERN @CharName16,'ITEM_SHIT(DOESNOTEXISTINDATABASE)',1,1
    end
    right query
    if(@JobID = 'xxxx')-- sh1t
    begin
    exec _ADD_ITEM_EXTERN @CharName16,'ITEM_SHIT(EXISTSINDATABASE)',1,1
    end

    when you execute the wrong one and run it through item, it does not apply the effect. and when you do modify it to the right one, it stucks like you did not modify a shit. and from this part, the database becomes buggy and I should restore the latest working part again.

    Is there any other side that the database regularly stores the query inside? because i'm sure it's not only timedjobid.

    Whatever u tried to say... I didnt understand a thing...
    How about rephrasing it?

    And explain it in 2-3 different ways lol.

    "it stucks like you did not modify a shit"
    "when you execute the wrong one and run it though item"

    Why would u even try it with an item which doesnt exist in the first place?

    Then how about mentioning that you r modifying _AddTimedJob?
    Since your at it, why not copy the full procedure? Maybe theres a Return in the code which basically stops your query making it useless.

    I give an example because no one will be seem to understand me. like you said. because it's fucking rare. but I've found a solution: Taking backup of the proc. itself before executing its query would get the job done. (In case the proc got bugged)

    and, I will send you the proc private since what I'm trying to do can not be publicly shared.

    If i get you right, your problem might be the procedure return values, which should be passed to some server module... well, if not - reply back in this thread, or send me a pm so i can help... i got pretty much nothing to do at the moment, while I'm at college.
