    What to do against ddos attacks?

    is there any software firewall that helps against ddos? we cant afford hardware firewall

    29/month o.O?

    nothing can stop ddos attack (huge ones)

    but with HardWare FireWall i think you can but maybe not with the huge ddos

    HardWare FireWall = 500$/month

    You need an expensive hardware firewall. Most datacenters will provide you with a hardware firewall to block most DDoS attacks starting around $500~1000/month.

    No software prevents DDoS attacks.

    PeerBlock's doing the trick 1000's of attacks just being blocked, fsck these DDoS companys $500 a month prob them doing it for customers

    lol. peerblock blocks p2p, spammers and stuff like that.. wont work against ddos

    why not? close it and change it... problem solved.
    If you encrypt your files it will be harder to find your port.. and if you keep changing it daily or weekly, then the attacker will get bored. "the port part"

    even if the files are packed/crypted you can see the port, for example in comodo firewall, you can see the active connections... it shows the server ip and port

    No need softwares... netstat -an will do the trick
